Theresultsofthisproductivitystudywerebothdramaticandconclusive—AutoCAD2011issignificantlymore

productivethanAutoCAD2008.

Whencreatingtypicaldrawings,theeaseofaccessaffordedbytheribboninterfaceaswellastheuseofnew

featuresandfunctionalityintroducedinAutoCAD2009,2010,and2011,resultsin

improvementsinindividual

userproductivityrangingfrom15to94percent,withanaverageimprovementinproductivityof31percent.

Upgradingone’sworkstationandoperatingsystemaswellasupgradingfromAutoCAD2008toAutoCAD2011

resultsinimprovementsinindividualuserproductivityrangingfrom25percentto94percent,

withanaverage

improvementinproductivityof44percent.

Whiledifferentindividualswilllikelyexperiencevaryingdegreesofimprovement,dependingonthenature

andcomplexityofthedrawingsandtheirskilllevels,similarlevelsofimprovementarehighlylikely.

EnhancementstotheuserinterfaceinbothAutoCADandWindows7also

yieldamoresatisfyinguser

experience.

MostuserswillbeabletogetmoreworkdonefasterasaresultofmovingfromAutoCAD2008toAutoCAD

2011.Theamountofimprovementlikelytoberecognizedissosignificantthatmostuserswillconcludethatit

easilyjustifiesthecost

ofupgrading.


